Our rule for updates, and the three features we shipped to speakers bought in 2020.
Software can make old hardware better — or quietly make it worse. We wrote down one rule in 2020 and have kept it since: an update may add things, never take them away.
What that means in practice
No feature disappears behind a subscription. No speaker stops working because a server shuts down. Every Baffle product works fully without an account and without the app.
Three things we added this year
Stereo pairing for Orb, a wider EQ for Field 01, and a night mode for Monolith 6 that keeps dialogue clear at low volume. All three reached products bought in 2020.
The best update is the one that makes a five-year-old speaker feel new.
How to update
Open the Baffle app, or plug the product into a computer and visit our update page. It takes about two minutes and never deletes your settings.
